EDUCATION
Democrats support a vibrant and well-funded public education system.

Democrats want the highest standards for every child & school, where every parent is involved and teachers nurture children’s minds.

The global marketplace gets more competitive every day, so we need to expand opportunities for higher education and job training. Democrats are committed to more young Tennesseans with college degrees and more students prepared for budding industries with specific job skills.
EQUAL PAY
Currently women earn only about 77 cents for every dollar a man earns for the same job. Democrats fight to ensure that employers do not discriminate against women by paying them less for the same work.
Democrats want to strengthen our equal pay laws so that women have the tools they need to fight back against pay discrimination.
HEALTHCARE
No one should go bankrupt just because they get sick.

Democrats have fought for the simple idea that everyone should have some basic security in health care. 650,000 Tenneseeans live without medical insurance. This must change!

As Republican politicians try to make it harder to vote, Democrats are working to expand access to the polls. Democrats want a system of elections that is accessible, open, and fair — a system that ensures that every eligible person can cast a vote and that every lawfully cast vote is counted.
